Lower elementary community
The Montessori elementary curriculum is extraordinarily broad and ideally suited to meet the needs of this age group. Elementary children are curious and intensely social. They often engage in pair and group work, creating a lively classroom atmosphere.
Elementary teachers make use of the Montessori ‘Great Lessons’ as a starting point for the interdisciplinary learning programme. These stories appeal to the imagination of the children and provide a framework for contextualised learning.
Children go on regular field trips to learn outside the school in addition to their classroom studies.
At the lower elementary level children aged from 6 to 9 years old (1st to 3rd grade) learn in a mixed age classroom with one or two Polish early education teachers and a full-time native speaker teacher.
