The dust from September and October—stirred up by the start of the school year, the move to a new building, and all the changes that came with it—has now begun to settle. We can take a calmer look at what we have managed to build together over the years.

Some of you have been with us from the very beginning

In 2014, six children began their first year of primary school, while eight children were attending our preschool. We started with the firm belief that it is possible to teach effectively while remaining deeply attentive to each child—to their individual needs and the joy they find in discovering the world. Today, we are part of a much larger community. We have the privilege of watching your children—whom we have known since their earliest years of schooling—grow up; our graduates frequently return to visit us; and our eighth-grade exam results are a source of great satisfaction—this year, we ranked 7th place among all the schools in Katowice. These achievements serve as a meaningful testament to the hard work of the children, their parents, and our entire staff.
However, these successes do not mean that further development does not require commitment and collaborative effort from us all. On the contrary—we are constantly seeking new paths for growth, as the conditions in which we operate are changing and demographic decline alongside the rapid pace of educational transformation present us with new challenges. We do not wish to ignore these challenges or pretend they do not concern us. Instead, we intend to examine them closely and seek solutions that will enable us to further develop what we have built together over the years.

Montessori – a path that we choose together

We know that you value the Montessori approach and recognize its significance. We would like to continue learning about your perspective and discussing how we can evolve, what new ideas might be worth introducing, and how we can make EMS an even better place for learning, working, and personal growth. Many of the practices that shape our community’s daily life today are the result of experiences, observations, and conversations—including those we have had with you. We value your input and intend to keep incorporating it. The new building marks a new phase and brings fresh possibilities; therefore, we invite you once again to engage in a constructive dialogue. We are keen to exchange ideas and explore solutions that will provide genuine value to our entire community.

What is coming up?

We are constantly seeking ideas that will allow us to better showcase what Montessori pedagogy is and what distinguishes our daily work. Its value is best understood through experience: by observing children, their independent work, their level of engagement, and the way they discover the world. We are already implementing some of these new ideas.

    • From Monday, 9th November, we will start using the car pool also at collection time in the afternoon. It works similarly to the morning one, but in the opposite direction 😉 This will be a pilot project carried out to the end of November. Please read carefully all the information we have prepared for you so that the first days go as smoothly as possible.

    • From Monday, 9th November, we will also begin preparing meals on-site, in our own school kitchen. Meals will be prepared on-site, fresh, by a new team of cooks. We can’t wait to taste the first results!

    • Parent observation will take place in the last two weeks of November (from 16th to 27th  November). This is a valuable way to engage with your child’s (or children’s) learning process within the context of the Montessori method and this year also offers an opportunity to observe in our beautiful new classrooms. You can sign up in the school office from the first week of November.

Open days

As part of the preparations for the upcoming school year, we invite you to our open days, which will take place on the following Saturdays:

  • Saturday, 5th December,
  • Saturday, 9th January,
  • Saturday, 6th February.

The open days are from 10:00am to 12:00pm. If you know of any families who might be interested in our school, preschool or toddlers group, please share these dates with them.

We also invite you to be a part of our open days. We know that some families have previously expressed an interest in getting involved in such initiatives. We would be delighted to have you serve as ambassadors—guiding guests through the building and sharing your own perspective on the daily life of our community. Such a personal account is often far more compelling than any formal presentation. If you are interested, please send us an email indicating which date(s) you would like to participate in.

... one more invitation

We are looking for another person to join our management team. If you would like to get involved in the development of EMS in a professional capacity, we would love to talk. The scope of responsibilities and the number of working hours are open for discussion. We have many ideas and tasks ahead of us and we want to carry them out with people who feel a real connection to this place.
