Shaping a new reality – the move is just around the corner.

A message from the management team is always an attempt to gather in one place everything we are currently living through. And lately, we have been living quite intensely.

We are all living through this change right now. The building. Everything that is new, a little exciting, a little crazy, and not yet fully put together.

On one side: the new building, finishing works, the move, adapting the new space, organising a whole new reality, the end of the school year, and a thousand arrangements happening somewhere in between. On the other side, life as always: children, emotions, laughter, the end of the year, exams, conversations, and words exchanged in passing in the corridor. The everyday human-to-human connection, which in all of this still remains the most important thing.

Finishing and adapting the new space.

Do you remember the quote we ended the last school year with? “Change is hard at the beginning, messy in the middle and wonderful at the end.” We are now entering the “wonderful” phase 😉

Take a look at the latest video update showing the progress of the works. The floors on the second floor and the ground floor are almost finished. The ventilation systems, thanks to which the air in the building will be crystal clear 😉, are about to undergo leak tests. Don’t worry, we made sure that if things ever get too clean or too fragrant, every classroom will still have windows that can be opened 😉

The Big Day! 🎉

Oh wow… it’s really happening! We have booked a moving company for July 6–10. We’ve finally made it to this point! Because of the move, we still do not know exactly how we will organise the summer camp. We are considering several options: staying in the old building a little longer (if we are still allowed to be there with the children), moving activities into the new building (although we will need time to settle in), or possibly renting the nearby School No. 5 for that period. We will see. For now, we definitely need to know how many school children and how many preschool children will be joining the summer camp. As for our preschoolers, we have the wonderful possibility of using the hospitality of our second friendly preschool on Wspólna Street for those two weeks in July, if needed. And what a garden they have there! As always, our teachers will take loving and attentive care of the children during the summer camp.

Instead of the Picnic 🌿

On June 26th, 2026 at 3:30 PM, we invite everyone to our “Nostalgic Afternoon” … a symbolic farewell to the building. We will have something to drink, something to eat, share memories… and maybe prepare a little surprise. We are also thinking about creating a mural together on the building itself (yes, we do have the owner’s permission 😉). The idea is simple: just like every year, we want to spend some time together before the holidays begin. For many years we celebrated this time during our family picnic (for example at the Open-Air Museum), but this year we are going for a more nostalgic and budget-friendly version. What matters most is that we will be together. Come join us!

ENGLISH MONTESSORI EDUCATION – Growing and evolving together.

We are growing:

  • vertically – because alongside our preschool, primary school and high school, we will soon also open a nursery,

  • horizontally – because we are moving from just under 2,000 m² to more than 3,000 m², plus over 1,000 m² of playground and outdoor space,

  • and personally – because, as you may remember, a new partner has joined us: Mr Andrzej Kuba.

We can confidently say that EMS is opening a completely new chapter.

With that in mind, after 12 years we decided to gently refresh our name. We are therefore announcing that the “mother ship”, carrying our preschool, primary school and high school on board, will now be called English Montessori Education.

The names of our “child ships” – the preschool, school and high school – remain unchanged. We are still:

  • English Montessori School Bilingual Preschool,

  • English Montessori School Primary School,

  • EMS High School.

This is a technical change that does not affect parents in any way 😉

Tuition Fees for the 2026/27 School Year

We always try to inform you about tuition fee changes well in advance. A change of building, much like a change of packaging, also comes with raising the prestige of EMS. For this reason, last year we announced that tuition fees for the 2026/27 school year might increase by 15% compared to the current rates.

Since then, the moving date has changed several times, and the renovation itself has turned out to be a longer and more complex process than we originally expected. Over the past months, we have been preparing the school, the team and the everyday functioning of EMS for the new location.

We know that even a fantastic new space, while exciting, may also bring organisational surprises and temporary inconveniences. After all, “Change is hard at the beginning, messy in the middle and wonderful at the end.” Even with the best preparation, such a transition requires time, patience and calm responses to whatever may appear along the way.

Taking all of this into consideration, we feel it is only fair that the tuition increase should be lower than originally announced. Therefore, tuition fees for the 2026/27 school year will increase as follows compared to the current rates:

  • for the school: by 10%,
  • for the preschool: by 5%,
  • for the after-school club: by 5%.

Thank you for your support, patience and trust while waiting for the new place. The fact that you are part of EMS is a real support for our shared idea of creating a different face of education in Silesia.

Best regards, Bronwen Allen and Agnieszka Kocot-Łaszczyca together with the EMS Team

Układanie nowej rzeczywistości, czyli przeprowadzka tuż tuż

Słowo od dyrekcji to zawsze próba zmieszczenia w jednym miejscu wszystkiego, czym żyjemy. A żyjemy ostatnio intensywnie.

We’re staying at Gallusa until the end of the school year!

Do you remember how, in our February newsletter, we wrote that all the signs in the heavens and on earth pointed to us moving to the new building at the end of April? The signs were mistaken. 😉We’ll be staying in the Gallus building until the end of the 2025/26 school year, so to 26.06.2026. All in all, we’re happy about this. We still don’t know yet what’s going to happen with the summer camp at the end of June and during July.
